Headquartered in Singapore, DayOne’s leadership team draws on over two decades of industry experience and a track record of building Asia’s largest data center business. With DayOne, they have created the SIJORI (Singapore, Johor, and Riau Islands) market as a global data center hub.
The brand name “DayOne” encapsulates our entrepreneurial spirit and relentless focus on customers, innovation, and growth. It signifies a mindset of respecting each day as an opportunity to embrace new possibilities, create impactful solutions, and deliver value across the markets we serve.
As demand for strategically located and customized data centers rises, DayOne’s entrepreneurial spirit, customer-first strategy, deep local partnerships, and agile executional capabilities uniquely position us to power the growth ambitions of leading hyperscalers and large enterprises around the world.
Our Markets
Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing are creating an insatiable appetite for computing power from global hyperscale and enterprise customers. Meeting this unprecedented demand requires an original and creative approach that can maximize capacity while optimizing scarce resources such as land, power, and water.
Our innovative, customer-centric strategy addresses these challenges by creating new connected markets that provide fast access to scalable, low-latency, cost-effective, and sustainable data center solutions.
In the SIJORI (Singapore-Johor-Riau Islands) region, we pioneered a hub-and-spoke model to address resource challenges and optimize connectivity.
DayOne’s SIJORI facilities capitalize on the unique strengths of each location, creating powerful synergies. Singapore offers world-class connectivity through its extensive submarine cable infrastructure. Johor in Malaysia and Batam in Indonesia provide cost-efficient resources and business-friendly environments, while their proximity to Singapore ensures low-latency performance for Singapore-based customers. This strategic combination creates a seamlessly integrated ecosystem.
Together, these interconnected locations drive the deployment of scalable, future-ready data centers designed to meet evolving customer needs.
Singapore is among the top 10 global data center markets and ranks second in Asia (excluding China). With over 16 subsea cables linking it to global markets, Singapore serves as a critical hub for hyperscalers, AI-driven workloads, and enterprise cloud services. Its strict sustainability regulations ensure resource-efficient and environmentally friendly development, aligning with global green infrastructure standards.
In 2023, DayOne was one of only four operators awarded a permit under Singapore’s Pilot Data Center Call for Application (DC-CFA) initiative, enabling the delivery of around 20 MW of sustainable data center capacity.
In 2024, we acquired a prime plot of land at 21 Jalan Buroh, with potential for future capacity scaling through innovative power technologies.
We are partnering with industry leaders to integrate Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology as a proof of concept for hydrogen-based energy solutions, aligning with our commitment to sustainability.
Johor is strategically located near Singapore, offering ultra-low latency (1–2 ms). Combining cost-efficient resources and robust connectivity via terrestrial fiber and subsea cables, Johor is a vital overflow market for hyperscalers, alleviating Singapore’s capacity constraints and enabling large-scale AI deployments.
Anticipating spillover demand from Singapore in 2021, we began building our presence in Johor at Nusajaya Tech Park (NTP) and launched our first facility in 2023. A second campus at Kempas Tech Park (KTP) followed, addressing customer needs for diversity, forming a new AZ, and building redundancies.
Our two data center campuses at NTP and KTP integrate renewable energy sources and provide critical infrastructure to collectively support hyperscale cloud and AI workloads.
Each campus can scale further and be operational within 9 to 12 months. Both sites continue to attract prominent brands from a diverse customer base.
Batam, located just 20 kilometers across the strait from Singapore, is a cost-efficient and highly connected extension of the region’s data center network. With over 15 operational and developing submarine cables, Batam provides seamless connectivity to key APAC markets. Its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) designation further enhances its attractiveness by offering tax incentives and streamlined operations.
In collaboration with the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), our Nongsa Digital Park (NDP) campus forms a unified platform network to facilitate the development of the regional ecosystem.
Our Batam facilities, featuring cutting-edge technology, is the first data center of its kind in Asia designed for customers with AI and cloud application needs. Operational in early 2025, it caters to hyperscalers and enterprises requiring low-latency connectivity.
DayOne is acquiring dark fiber and developing new submarine cables connecting cable landing stations in Singapore and Batam.
We are actively expanding our international data center platform, replicating our successful strategy to build data center clusters globally. By leveraging insights into customer demand, we select new markets that offer the greatest potential. Our goal is to deliver seamless connectivity solutions across regions.
Demand from hyperscale and large enterprise customers is creating a need for high-powered and cost-efficient data centers in Hong Kong. The city, as a major APAC subsea cable hub, is well-positioned to offer international bandwidth and network diversity through a cross-border optical cable system.
Leveraging our innovative market strategy, we launched a purpose-built data center cluster in the prime location of Kwai Chung, a significant achievement in a city where land scarcity makes new capacity development challenging.
Our Hong Kong data centers are clustered in the industrial hub of Kwai Chung district, a prime location close to industrial, logistical, and financial hubs. Designed on brownfield sites, these facilities provide low-latency, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions and are able to help our customers scale up operations.
We are developing a crucial carrier-neutral, multi-cloud and data exchange hub in the APAC region in support of the Hong Kong government’s commitment to promoting digital growth.
Japan is one of the largest Tier 1 data center markets globally, with hyperscale demand driving rapid growth. Tokyo’s role as a critical APAC subsea cable hub ensures strong connectivity and scalability for digital workloads.
In April 2024, we marked our entry into North Asia to build a data center campus in Fuchu City, located about 30 kilometers west of Tokyo.
The campus located within Fuchu Intelligent Park (FIP) is under development to deliver secure and scalable infrastructure to meet evolving customer needs.
We are developing two purpose-built data centers near each other. The facility will be the largest in the city in terms of IT load and is set to be operational by 2027.
Thailand’s central location in Southeast Asia positions it as a connectivity bridge linking the Greater Mekong region, Singapore, and Malaysia. With 11 existing submarine cables and 3 more under development, Thailand ensures low-latency links to major markets across Asia, Europe, and North America.
In November 2024, we entered Thailand to develop a hyperscale campus in Chonburi province, southeast of Bangkok. To enhance energy efficiency, we will incorporate advanced technologies such as liquid cooling, while integrating prefab solutions and strengthening connectivity.
Our facility will launch in phases, delivering 120 MW of capacity with expansion potential to support Thailand’s digital ecosystem.
With a 120 MW IT load, we will be the largest data center player in Thailand, launching operations in 2026.
