DayOne Signs Indonesia’s Largest 511MVA (~450MW) PPA to Expand Hyperscale Data Center Platform in Batam
Agreements with PLN Batam also cover connectivity and infrastructure collaboration, supporting one of the largest data center developments in Indonesia

DayOne today announced the signing of a landmark set of agreements with PT PLN Batam, marking a major expansion of its digital infrastructure platform in Indonesia. The agreements include the largest long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) in Indonesia, at approximately 511 MVA, equivalent to around 450 MW of grid capacity, as well as memoranda of understanding covering connectivity and electrical infrastructure services for DayOne Kabil Industrial Tech Park (KITP), its new data center campus located in Kabil Integrated Industrial Estate (KIIE), Batam. Power supply will be delivered in phases between 2026 and 2027 to support the project.
The development represents DayOne’s second hyperscale data center campus in Batam, following its flagship campus in Nongsa Digital Park (NDP), and further expands its next-generation digital infrastructure platform to support the rapid growth of cloud and AI workloads across Asia Pacific.
The DayOne Kabil campus is being developed as a high-performance, AI-ready platform designed to support advanced computing workloads. Building on the foundation established in Nongsa, which already supports advanced AI infrastructure deployments in the region, KITP advances both scale and capability.
This expansion reflects a broader multi-campus strategy within Batam and reinforces the island’s role as a growing digital infrastructure hub in Southeast Asia. The campus represents the next phase of hyperscale growth, supported by access to high-voltage power infrastructure and Batam’s established subsea cable connectivity. Together, the NDP and KITP campuses form a complementary ecosystem that combines network advantage with scalable capacity, enabling long-term platform expansion.
Batam is emerging as a key data center hub, combining proximity to Singapore with cost-efficient conditions for large-scale development and strong government support, including the role of BP Batam in facilitating investment, streamlining regulatory processes, and infrastructure development.
Jamie Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of DayOne, said: “This expansion marks a significant milestone in our strategy to build one of Asia’s leading digital infrastructure platforms. Our continued expansion in Batam, from NDP to KITP, reflects the growing importance of the island within our broader regional platform, including our proprietary SIJORI model connecting Singapore, Johor and Batam into an integrated, cross-border data center platform in Southeast Asia. The signing of Indonesia’s largest data center PPA with PLN Batam further strengthens our ability to deliver large-scale, high-performance infrastructure capacity to meet the rising demand for cloud and advanced computing across Asia Pacific.”
Kwin Fo, President Director of PT PLN Batam, said: “We are proud to support the development of one of the largest data center projects in Indonesia through the provision of reliable and scalable power infrastructure. This collaboration reflects the strong partnership between PLN Batam, BP Batam, and DayOne, and reinforces Batam’s growing role as a regional digital hub in Southeast Asia.”
Amsakar Achmad, Chairman of BP Batam, said: “BP Batam is committed to fostering a conducive investment environment through streamlined regulatory processes and the provision of integrated infrastructure. The entry of DayOne’s large-scale data center project demonstrates that Batam is well-positioned to become a leading digital hub.”
As one of the largest and fastest-growing digital infrastructure platforms in the region, DayOne continues to expand its presence across Asia Pacific, with a growing footprint in Indonesia to support the country’s digital growth and rising demand for cloud and advanced computing.
